Pre-school care and education is universal (but not compulsory) for children under the age of 6 in Georgia and is delivered almost exclusively through full-day nurseries or pre-schools. Currently pre-school education is completely decentralized in the country with local governments fully responsible for establishing, funding, and operating pre-schools.
