Georgia's President, Mikheil Saakashhvili, Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini, and Mayor of Tbilisi, Gigi Ugulava, observed the ongoing construction of a new professional center in Gldani. The foundation of the new professional center was laid in December 2011 and the construction is ongoing. The center to be built in Gldani is an initiative of the President of Georgia which is aimed at professional training and retraining of people in the outskirts of Tbilisi. 

The new institution will offer the following specialties: construction techniques, operations, electrician, sewing specialist, accountant, etc. Admissions to the institution will be open to interested people of all ages. The college will be equipped with up-to-date facilities and staffed with qualified personnel.

This is a part of the reforms which are geared toward enhancing vocational training throughout Georgia.
